Samsung delves into the details of its upcoming audio upgrades, set to enhance the audio experience on a wide range of its devices, including phones, tablets, and TVs.

Auracast Expansion: Broadcasting Brilliance

Samsung sheds light on the expanded support for Auracast, a Bluetooth technology enabling a single device to broadcast audio to numerous endpoints like speakers and headphones. While already present in Galaxy Buds 2 Pro and high-end TVs, the technology now finds its way to more devices. To broadcast Auracast streams, devices need to run Samsung’s One UI 6.1 and above. The Galaxy S23 series, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5 smartphones, and Tab S9 tablets are among the supported devices. Devices with One UI 5.1.1 can receive Auracast broadcasts, including Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, A54 5G, M54 5G smartphones, and Tab S9 FE, and Tab Active 5 5G tablets.

Global Rollout for Real-Time Translation

The Galaxy S24 series introduces a real-time translation feature, enabling translated audio through Galaxy Buds while the listener hears the translated words through the phone’s speaker. Initially announced for the Indian market, this feature is now set for a global rollout.

Expanding 360 Audio to TVs

Samsung expands its support for 360 audio, a surround sound technology utilizing head tracking to create a directional audio experience. This technology, previously available on select phones and tablets, is now extending to Neo QLED and OLED TVs. A detailed list of supported TVs is available in Samsung’s blog post, with compatibility confirmed for Buds 2 Pro and Buds 2.

Auto Switch Evolution

Auto Switch, a feature facilitating seamless Bluetooth connection swapping, is evolving. Initially supporting select Samsung tablets and TVs, it is now expanding to include Galaxy Book laptops with Samsung’s One UI 6.0 software.

The Future of Samsung Audio

With these audio upgrades, Samsung aims to elevate the auditory experience across its ecosystem. Whether it’s the immersive Auracast technology, real-time translations, 360 audio on TVs, or the convenient Auto Switch feature, the tech giant is pushing boundaries to redefine the audio landscape for its users. As updates roll out progressively, users can anticipate a richer, more dynamic audio experience across their Samsung devices.
