
Adeoye Adefulu
Dr. Adeoye Adefulu, is the Managing Partner and the head of the Energy Practice at Odujinrin & Adefulu. He is a highly respected lawyer with over two decades of experience in advising on a wide range of electricity, oil & gas, financing, acquisitions and restructuring matters. He is recognized as a leading authority in oil and gas regulatory reforms, gas utilisation, energy transition, environmental law as well as project finance.
Dr. Adeoye possesses a deep and thorough understanding of the Nigerian oil & gas regulatory landscape. He routinely advises oil and gas giants, power sector market leaders, financial services players, project developers and sponsors, independent petroleum producers and members of the public sector on various aspects of energy law.
He is ranked as a leading lawyer in Nigeria by leading international legal directories, including Chambers and Partners (Global), IFLR 1000 and Legal 500.
His contributions to the Nigerian energy landscape reforms are particularly evident in his involvement with the Petroleum Industry Bill (“PIB”) – Nigeria’s most important Petroleum legislation. He was an integral part of the PIB journey, from its initial drafts in 2009 to its historic passage in 2021, and now advises clients on the implementation of the Petroleum Industry Act.
Dr. Adeoye currently serves as the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association – Section on Business Law (NBA-SBL), where he continues to shape the legal and business landscape in Nigeria.
